영어 학습에서 팝송 활용에 관한 한국 대학생의 인식 연구

초록

The aim of the present study is to explore college students’ perceptions of using pop songs in general English classes. A total of 50 students from a university in Daegu participated in the research. Data were collected through a 30-item questionnaire with a 5-point Likert scale, which assessed learner motivation, perceptions, and language skills. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and an independent samples t-test in SPSS 27.0. The findings revealed that students held positive perceptions of using pop songs in English classes, viewing them as beneficial for increasing motivation to learn, improving language skill development, and enriching overall knowledge. However, students also noted challenges in understanding native English speakers’ pronunciation and fast speaking rates, as well as interpreting culturally embedded lyrics and figurative language.
