Design and Implementation of a Network Simulation Tool for Naval Ship Network Analysis

초록

This study proposes a simulation design methodology for analyzing the network performance of naval combat systems. The proposed implementation technique enables the measurement of network performance between various nodes and network devices that constitute the naval combat system. A naval ship network typically consists of numerous communication devices and mission-critical nodes that exchange tactical and operational data. To design next-generation naval vessels, it is essential to determine the specifications of each node, network bandwidth, and overall network topology. These design choices must be thoroughly evaluated through simulation prior to actual implementation to ensure their suitability. In this research, a simulator was designed and implemented to assess the performance of naval networks. The developed tool was applied to simulate a representative naval ship network, and the resulting data were analyzed. The simulation tool enables pre-validation of the combat system network’s operational state, supports stability assurance of network structure, and helps predict system-wide efficiency.
