초록
Concrete structures display reduced durability due to age-related cracking, which incurs considerable maintenance costs. To address this, there is rising attention toward bacteria-based self-healing technology; however, this technology involves high production costs for processes such as conventional encapsulation and pelletization. Therefore, this study aims to optimize self-healing efficiency by utilizing bone ash powder (BAP), a sustainable waste-derived resource containing hydroxyapatite (HAp), as a protective carrier and reaction accelerator for bacteria. Crack-healing characteristics were evaluated based on BAP incorporation conditions. Microstructural healing mechanisms and the formation of CaCO3 and HAp through bacterial biomineralization were identified by scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive x-ray spectroscopy, and x-ray diffraction analyses. The results demonstrated that BAP effectively preserved bacterial viability while notably enhancing healing performance. This study is expected to provide fundamental data for reducing maintenance costs and extending the service life of structures by deriving optimal mix designs for BAP-based self-healing concrete.
